Located in the environmentally preserved area of the Right Whale, during the winter season, Praia do Rosa attracts whale watching tourists, it is an important fixture in the winter calendar.  Between August and November, lots of Right Whales come from the Antarctica to procreate and breastfeed their babies in the protected areas of the bay. The biggest mammal in the world, the Right Whale (Eubalena Australis) is a species in danger of extinction, they can reach up to18 meters length and weigh approx. 40 tons.
